SSE Pacifico was formed in October 2021 to deliver offshore wind projects in Japan. SSE Pacifico is a Joint Ownership Company between SSE Renewables, part of the integrated UK-listed energy group SSE, and Pacifico Energy, one of Japan's largest developers of renewable energy. The creation of the joint ownership company involves the acquisition by SSE Renewables of an 80% interest in an offshore wind development platform from Pacifico Energy.
SSE Pacifico is progressing a 6GW portfolio of early stage development opportunities by leveraging SSE Renewables’ expertise in developing, constructing and operating offshore wind farms with Pacifico Energy's extensive local experience in Japan in local preparatory development work.
